Moroccan Villa. Palm Jumeirah. Dubai, UAE
Located on Palm Jumeirah, Dubai, this private villa was renovated to introduce the richness and character of Moroccan design into a contemporary residential setting. The brief called for an interior that would feel authentic and highly detailed, while retaining the warmth and intimacy of a family home.
Moroccan and Islamic influences shape the design language throughout the villa, creating a strong and consistent identity from one space to the next. Rather than treating ornament as an added decorative layer, patterns, materials and architectural details were considered as integral parts of the overall composition.
A warm and earthy colour palette establishes an inviting atmosphere and provides a balanced backdrop for the more intricate elements of the interior. Subtle variations in tone and texture bring depth to the spaces while allowing the craftsmanship and decorative language to take centre stage.
Marble detailing and richly composed mosaic patterns become defining elements of the project. Their layered geometries, repetition and precision introduce rhythm and visual complexity, drawing on the richness of traditional Moroccan and Islamic design without allowing the interiors to feel overwhelmed by ornament.
Throughout the villa, these elements come together to create an interior that is expressive, immersive and distinctly Moroccan in character. Warm tones, intricate patterns and carefully considered detailing give the residence its identity, while the overall composition remains personal and tailored to the way the client experiences the home.
